Originally I was going to incorporate these developing fish embryos into the last anglerfish illustration. However, it looked to overcomplicated and the detail became lost. This image is very unfinished but I like the composition and atmosphere that is created from the glowing orbs.

I have been loving blue planet! The beauty and destruction within these deep ocean ecosystems are mesmerising. This is my newest illustration, I have used colours and tones that reflect the deep sea.
In this image you will see a very small male fish fusing itself to the body of the female in order to mate. Once attached, the male lives on the female like a parasite, ready to spawn when the time arises. The male anglerfish only lives to find a female, if he is unsuccessful in doing so then he will die. How lovely. Work in progress....
I have been looking at applying colour to my illustrations using a limited colour palette. I am not happy with these neither of these colours (the one on the left is the original, and the one on the right is the inverted version). Still experimenting with it! Playing with a hand-marbled paper as a textured background!
A few pieces relating to my final year project 'utopia and dystopia within nature'. I have been visually exploring the conflict between beauty and chaos within the natural world, and how both elements are necessary in order to maintain ecological balance and harmony within the universe.
