Last Christmas 2014 I had the opportunity to display and sell my artwork at a christmas fair. It was the first time running my own stall and I learned a lot from the experience! For the first time I could listen to people who had never seen my work before and listen to their comments and reactions. I had some lovely feedback!

This is my first bog post and I thought that I would start by sharing something that I wrote a while ago about the way that I use art to perceive the world, and how it feels to experience it. My art philosophy...
" Life is art and I am the creator of my own masterpiece. So far my painting looks like this- a young girl who is very happy and very loved. My family and friends are my muses and the world around me is my inspiration. I am an artist of the imagination, everything that I do, create, write, speak of is a reflection of who I am. I make it my ambition and responsibility to to express single every part of me in a way that only speaks the truth. Never lie, it does not make for a good artist. You cannot engage with a piece of artwork that you do not love, do not care about and treasure. Technical skill makes for a good painting but passion, honesty and integrity makes for a masterpiece. Art can only speak to an audience if you give it a voice. I use colour, literature and movement to give my artwork a voice, it reveals my perception of the world, a world of love, dreams, and mystery. It is about looking beyond the obvious, not looking at the world but into it and relishing what you find, 'not looking but seeing'. Whilst many of the things that I draw, goddesses, fairies, mermaids do not exist in the fabric of a physical reality, they are very present and very real in my metaphysical reality- therefore they are true. I am the creator of my artwork, the conjurer, the interpreter, the perceiver, the critique and most importantly, the viewer, and through my eyes I look at the world and I look at my life... and I see a masterpiece.
